KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is positioning itself as a regional hub for renewable energy, inviting global investors to explore opportunities in solar, hydroelectric, wind, and geothermal energy.

Technical Advisor (Energy) to the Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Dr James Lim, reaffirmed this commitment during a courtesy visit by a delegation from Thailand’s B.Grimm Power Company on Wednesday.

He emphasised that Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is dedicated to making clean energy a key driver of Sabah’s economic transformation and welcomes strategic global partnerships.

Sabah’s abundant natural resources, including over 2,500 hours of annual sunshine and a strong river system, make it an ideal destination for renewable energy investments, with plans to establish a green industrial park.

Lim said B.Grimm Power’s investment would accelerate Sabah’s energy transition, create high-value job opportunities, and enhance energy security while attracting multinational companies to the State.
