Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FC have set their sights on securing a top-five finish in the 2026/2027 Malaysia Football League (MFL) Super League season.
Team manager Muhd Arziz Afizy Rumsani expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to compete consistently throughout the campaign, citing the club’s extensive preparations and strategic recruitment.
“Sabah FC have undergone thorough preparations and strategic player selections for the 2026/2027 season, and our target is to finish in the top five of the Super League,” he said.
Muhd Arziz said the club is unlikely to sign any additional foreign players beyond those already announced.
However, Sabah FC have strengthened their local contingent with the additions of Fayadh Zulkifli and Fadzrul Danel, while remaining committed to providing opportunities for Sabah-born players.
As part of their pre-season programme, Sabah FC will take on the Keningau Selection in a friendly match on July 31 in Keningau.
Muhd Arziz said the full squad will be available for the match, giving supporters the chance to see the team in action ahead of the new season.
“We hope the Keningau community will come out in large numbers to support the team. This is the best opportunity for fans to watch all our players in action,” he said.
He added that Sabah FC are also planning a pre-season tour across several districts in Sabah, with further details to be announced later.
The Rhinos will kick off their 2026/2027 Super League campaign against Star City FC at Likas Stadium on Aug 23.
