
Kota Kinabalu: Nearly 3,000 people remain displaced in six flood-hit districts across Sabah, with 2,956 victims from 824 families still housed at 24 temporary shelters as of Wednesday morning.
The death toll from the floods stands at 13, while 108 villages have been reported affected in Beaufort, Penampang, Tawau, Membakut, Papar and Putatan.
Authorities said evacuation efforts are ongoing as residents continue to be moved to safety.
In SIPITANG, the District Disaster Management Committee declared the district a disaster zone on Wednesday following reports from the ground, with the announcement made by District Officer Abd Karim AM Zahari.
