Sabah Forestry collected over RM155mil revenue in 2023, says Nizam

Kota Kinabalu: The amount of revenue collected by the Sabah Forestry Department in 2023 was RM155,320,887.49, said Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan.

Nizam stated that out of this amount, revenue from timber royalties amounted to RM93,270,201.64, and revenue from inspection fees for exported wood products was RM3,872,617.40.

“The surplus revenue of RM58.2 million comes from other forest revenues such as occupancy permit fees for forest reserves, license renewal fees, agroforestry royalties (rubber and palm oil), vehicle registration fees, and others,” he said at the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here, Tuesday.
