As the Sabah state election looms within the next two years, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, the President of Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, emphasized the crucial role of the party's machinery in effectively communicating the government's accomplishments and initiatives over the past three years. Hajiji, who also serves as the Chief Minister and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman, highlighted the significance of the party's machinery as frontliners in the upcoming polls.

With less than two years to seek a mandate from the people, Hajiji stressed the importance of transparently conveying the struggles and developmental milestones achieved by the GRS government at the grassroots level. He urged the party's machinery members and facilitators to collaborate as a team and engage with the community, providing a comprehensive understanding of the government's initiatives to fulfil the people's mandate.

The statement was issued during a casual meeting with participants, specifically facilitators, as part of the Gagasan Rakyat Leadership Empowerment course (ToT) held recently. This gathering served as an opportunity to discuss strategies and empower key individuals who will play a pivotal role in disseminating information about the government's accomplishments.

While Hajiji had previously hinted at the possibility of snap elections for Sabah in November, he later clarified last month that the state government has until September 2025 before its administrative term concludes. This timeframe emphasizes the importance of strategic communication and community engagement in the lead-up to the election.

Speaking about the state government's development efforts, Hajiji expressed confidence in the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan, stating that it is on the right track. Under the SMJ agenda, policies conducive to attracting investors have been implemented, leading to increased interest from both local and foreign investors. This surge in investments is expected to generate job opportunities for the youth, a crucial aspect of the government's agenda.

Hajiji highlighted the state government's proactive approach to organizing international conferences and inviting investors to explore opportunities in Sabah. These initiatives are aimed at boosting the economy, creating employment opportunities, and addressing poverty in the state. The emphasis on economic development and job creation aligns with the government's commitment to enhancing the overall well-being of Sabah's residents.

As the Gagasan Rakyat Sabah gears up for the upcoming state election, the effective communication of the government's achievements and future plans becomes a cornerstone of their strategy. Engaging with the community, fostering understanding, and highlighting the positive impact of developmental initiatives will be instrumental in securing the support of the electorate.
