KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s government-linked companies (GLCs) have been urged to strengthen governance standards and organisational performance to support the state’s economic growth better, said Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk James Ratib.

He said strong governance was crucial to ensure GLCs operated transparently, with integrity and a clear focus on results aligned with State Government priorities.

James said the aim was to strengthen Sabah’s GLCs so they could contribute more revenue to the State Government.

He was delivering the keynote address at the Sabah GLC Transformation Convention 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre here on Wednesday.

The convention, organised by his ministry with HRD Corp, was attended by chief executive officers and management representatives from 74 Sabah GLCs.
