THE Sabah Heart Centre construction project at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027 and begin operations within 24 months thereafter, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
He said the project is a new project under the implementation of Rolling Plan 1 (RP1) of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) with a total cost of RM125 million.
According to him, the space for the Sabah Heart Centre at the hospital was sufficient and the construction cost included preliminary works, building upgrades and equipment provision.
“The Ministry of Health is in the procurement process for material testing work which will be completed in August and the value management laboratory is expected to be implemented in the first quarter of 2027,” he said.
Dr Dzulkefly said the project was among the Ministry of Economy’s focus this year and was given high priority.
“Hopefully, in the third quarter of 2027 the building will be completed and 24 months after that, which is the third quarter of 2029, God willing, the Sabah Heart Centre will be operational,” he said.
