A weak 2.7 magnitude earthquake hit Sabah early this morning (December 5), the Malaysian Meteorological Department confirmed.

In a Facebook post, MET Malaysia said the weak earthquake was detected in the Tawau district around 4:54 AM, with a depth of 10 KM and tremors felt around the district.
