KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysia Marine Department (Sabah Region), together with five agencies, conducted a Maritime Transportation Safety Awareness Campaign from 24–26 June 2025 to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and improve passenger boat safety.

The campaign involved 84 personnel and six vessels from the Marine Department, MMEA, Sabah Ports and Harbours, Marine Police, and Sabah Parks.

Focused on compliance with maritime laws such as the Merchant Shipping Ordinance 1952 and Ports and Harbours regulations, the initiative highlights the state’s commitment to safer and more regulated sea travel.
