Kota Kinabalu: The Health Ministry has taken administrative action against a Sabah hospital director following an internal investigation into sexual harassment allegations involving a subordinate.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad (pic) said the director was removed from his post and reassigned as a medical officer at the Sabah State Health Department (JKNS), pending further action.
Speaking to reporters after officiating the 2026 Health Ministry Training Institute (ILKKM) Sabah Zone Convocation at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) on Saturday, Dzulkefly confirmed the transfer was part of administrative measures taken against the individual.
He said the official investigation report has been submitted to the Public Service Department (JPA) to determine subsequent disciplinary actions within its jurisdiction.
Dzulkefly stressed that the ministry will not compromise on the safety and welfare of its personnel, adding that the alleged victim received full support and treatment before returning to work.
