
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Labour Ordinance (Amendment) Act 2025 will come into force on May 1, as gazetted by the Federal Government on April 23.
The Act, marking the first amendment since 2005, was passed in the Dewan Rakyat on October 14, 2024.
It received Royal Assent on March 7 and was published in the Gazette on March 20.

Maternity leave has been extended from 60 to 98 days, and paternity leave of seven days is now introduced.
