KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s libraries welcomed 474,399 visitors in the first half of 2025, with continued efforts to boost digital access and community programmes, said Assistant Minister Datuk Harun Durabi.

In 2024, the State Library recorded over 1.3 million visits. Harun, responding to a question in the State Assembly, said new initiatives include providing tablets to 10 library branches to improve e-book access, particularly in rural areas.

He also highlighted upcoming events like Library Week in August and the Children’s Literature and Arts Festival in October. Efforts are underway to expand digital library services statewide in response to growing demand.
