KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Julita Majungki has urged the state chapter of the Malaysian Malay Contractors Association (PKMM) to play a bigger role in driving the construction sector and acting as a catalyst for Sabah’s development.

While acknowledging the association’s good performance, she said there is room for improvement in delivering competitive, quality projects.

PKMM Sabah president Mohd Nasruddin Datuk Dr Mohd Yaakub said their 26th annual meeting on Thursday focused on construction sector reforms, including digitalisation and diversifying expertise.

"Discussions are underway to revise work rate schedules for a “win-win” outcome for both government and contractors," he said.
