KOTA KINABALU: Sabah MCA chairman Datuk Teah Heok Kuin (pic) said cooperation between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in Sabah would be meaningless if seat allocations were made to satisfy parties instead of choosing winnable candidates.
He said voters are more discerning today and do not want to see seats given out carelessly in ways that risk defeat at the polls.
He stressed that any seat negotiations must be realistic, based on the actual strength of each party and candidate, so that the people are represented by credible leaders.
Teah added that Sabah MCA is ready to play an active role in the discussions, emphasising that the party’s aim is not just to contest but to secure victories and serve effectively.
He reminded that placing weak candidates only damages the coalition and robs the people of strong representation, warning that political missteps will not be easily forgiven by the electorate.
