Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Muda fully supports the party’s desire to join Pakatan Harapan but is holding out hope for the opposition coalition to work with Warisan in facing the next general election (GE15).

Sabah Muda chief Amos Thien said state PH chief Christina Liew had also expressed the coalition’s openness to work with other opposition parties, especially Warisan.

“Muda actually has no problems with Warisan and our president (Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman) also has a good relationship with (Warisan president) Shafie Apdal,” he told FMT.

“But, as we know, it seems Warisan wants to go on its own (in GE15).

“We are still hoping that Warisan will join us as an opposition bloc in facing GE15. We have always believed in a united opposition front. This is the only way to defeat BN and their kleptocrats.”

Thien said Muda had a good relationship with PH in Sabah, adding that he had met Liew previously to discuss working together.

He also said the party will contest two or three parliamentary seats in Sabah in GE15. However, he declined to reveal which seats since this has yet to be finalised.

“If Muda becomes a part of PH, we will definitely have a discussion with regards to the seats that will be contested,” he said.
