Kota Kinabalu: Sabah must be free of any demands from any quarter so that development can continue without interruption, said Kadamaian Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick.

He said those who claim to be the heirs of the Sulu sultanate have brought their claims on Sabah to Spain and France.

“The arbitration decision earlier this year was in their favour and the news of the takeover of Petronas assets (Petronas subsidiaries – Petronas Azerbaijan (Shah Denis) and Petronas South Caucusus by them was a distraction.

“For the Sabah Government to continue development and implement the annual and supplementary budgets, there should be no disruption like the Sulu demands.
