SABAH FC will be playing Selangor FC away tonight (Sunday). Another crunch game is expected for Datuk Ong Kim Swee boys as their opponents would definitely be all out to avenge their 1-2 defeat in the first round match held at Likas Stadium in April.
To do the double against a team currently second in the league, Sabah FC will need to keep up with the momentum they displayed against Seri Pahang FC in their last game.
It was one of their best performances this season and if they can maintain their focus and discipline, there is no doubt that the three points are there for them to grab.
However, all said and done, the outcome of the game tonight will rest on the players to be fielded.

The nippy Faisal Halim can be a thorn with his penetrating runs and their captain Brendan Gan is another player they must pay full attention to Selangor FC this season under head coach Tan Cheng Hoe are very good at orchestrating in midfield and from the flanks.
In order to restrict their movements, the markings have to be tight and the players must try to cling on to their opposite numbers like a leech throughout the entire game.
My main concern is still on the defensive line. They need to be more consistent and I hope tonight they can repeat their clean sheet performance against Sri Pahang FC.
Our front line in new striker Ramon Machado, Darren Lok and Indonesian import Saddil Ramdani are playing well at the moment.
Hopefully they can score early to settle the nerves. The first goal is vital to Sabah FC and they need to start fast.
The midfield trio of Park Taesu, Stuart Wilkin and perhaps Irfan Fazail need to be alert and try to cover any gaps as well as assisting the defence line.
Let’s play for each other and don’t be too complacent , play hard ,play smart, and maintain the focus throughout the game .
One thing for sure is that Selangor FC players will be all geared up for the match and let’s catch them off guard and bring back the three points, a draw wouldn’t be a bad result either.
All the best to Sabah FC, we will be rooting for you!
