KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Welfare Department provides a monthly allowance of RM450 to individuals, including family members, who care for elderly persons at home, confirmed Minister Datuk James Ratib at the State Assembly.
Assistant Minister Datuk Flovia Ng added that 78 senior citizens in Sekong received aid this year.
Addressing concerns over overcrowding at the Rumah Warga Emas Sibuga and a caretaker shortage, she said the Ministry will explore adding beds and improving staffing, welcoming cooperation from elected representatives.
