Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Pakatan Harapan (Sabah PH) congratulated PKR Keningau branch head Datuk Sangkar Rasam on being appointed the new Chairman of Sabah PKR State Leadership Council (MPN) by PKR President Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a short visit to Sabah on Saturday.
Sabah PH Secretary Mustapha Sakmud said the appointment was made unanimously after a consultation session held by the President with all branch heads present at the Sabah PKR MPN Office.
According to him, various suggestions were made, including retaining Datuk Christina Liew as Sabah PH Chairman.
Anwar as Chairman of Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council thus assured and announced that Christina will remain as Sabah PH Chairman to lead the State PH election machinery for the 15th General Election which is expected soon.
“He emphasised that the PH Chairman needs to be retained because he does not want the seat negotiation process and strengthening of the Sabah PH machinery to be affected ahead of GE15.
“The strong partnership between Christina as Sabah PH Chairman, Awang Husaini Sahari as PKR Vice-President and Sangkar as Chairman of MPN Sabah is expected to be able to strengthen the Sabah PH machinery together with the component parties comprising DAP, UPKO and Amanah,” Mustapha said in a statement, Sunday.
