KOTA KINABALU: PAS Sabah commissioner Datuk Dr Aliakbar Gulasan lodged a police report after a threatening letter written in red ink and weighed down with a stone was found outside his home around 8am on Friday.

The letter, discovered by his child, also left red paint stains on the house wall.

Aliakbar said the report was made as a safety precaution and urged authorities to act.

He declined to speculate on the sender but called the incident serious.

“If it is politically motivated, then this is politics gone too far,” he said, adding that politics should be practised with respect and ethics.

On speculation he might be a Chief Minister candidate, Aliakbar dismissed it, stressing that PAS has not discussed the matter.

He said the party’s focus is on winning the state election, estimating it could contest more than five seats, mainly in Muslim-majority areas.

He added that PAS will campaign under the Perikatan Nasional banner to reflect coalition unity, noting strong membership growth, particularly among youths.
