KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Finance Minister and SMJ Energy chairman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun has called on local oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE) companies to seize opportunities by meeting Petronas’ standards and forming strategic partnerships.
His remarks came as the state government and Petronas launched the Kinabalu Activity Outlook (KAO) 2025-2027, a roadmap detailing upstream, downstream, gas, and maritime activities to guide local OGSE firms in expanding their industry presence.
The event, attended by over 200 Sabahan OGSE representatives, set ambitious targets to double local contracts and job allocations to Sabah-based companies over the next three years.
Petronas Group Procurement Vice President Rashidah Alias reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fostering sustainable partnerships with the State Government to drive industry growth.
With the Sabah Local Content Council and a Joint Task Force ensuring stakeholder collaboration, the KAO 2025-2027 marks a crucial step toward strengthening Sabah’s oil and gas sector for long-term economic sustainability.
