GABUNGAN Rakyat Sabah’s four principal manifesto pillars have been cast as directly resonant with the developmental needs and social ambitions of communities in Tanjung Keramat, according to the coalition’s candidate for the state seat, Shah Alfie Yahya.
Shah Alfie said the continuity of GRS’ framework – Sabah First, Sabah Forward, Sabah Prosper and Sabah United – offers voters a coherent and confidence-inspiring plan as the state heads towards the seventeenth Sabah state election.
He argued that the coalition deserved due credit for presenting proposals that are “more relevant and appropriate” to the electorate.
He noted that the manifesto mirrors the leadership priorities of the Chief Minister and GRS Chairman, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor, adding that the coalition’s direction “reflects his concern and that of the GRS leadership, who are able to offer elements that meet the preferences of the local community whilst adding value to the performance of the GRS government.”
The candidate said the four pillars align closely with local sentiment in the constituency. “This is indeed consistent with the three aspirations that I carry for this state seat, namely the aspiration to enhance the community’s quality of life, the aspiration to develop human capital grounded in knowledge, and the aspiration to empower sustainable youth development,” he said.
He made the remarks following a walkabout and community outreach at Taman Pantai Lok Kawi, where residents greeted and spoke with him during the visit.
Reflecting on the campaign period for PRU17 Sabah, Shah Alfie described grassroots programmes as an indispensable means of deepening rapport with voters. He said that despite a demanding schedule, these engagements form the backbone of efforts to bring GRS’ aspirations directly to the people.
“This is an extremely efficient approach, and it allows us to get to know them more closely,” he said. “Drawing on my experience as the former Special Officer for Putatan and the Tanjung Keramat state seat, it plays a very significant role in enabling my team and me to operate more effectively in serving voters here.”
Also present during the engagement were Ummar Ariff Abu Bakar, Division Chief of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah for Tanjung Keramat, and members of the local GRS campaign machinery. - November 21, 2025
