Sabah polls: Musa Aman's son among 10 candidates announced by PKR

THE son of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, has been announced as one of 10 candidates from PKR who will contest in the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN17).

PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in announcing the names, said Datuk Yamani Hafez Musa, who is also a former Member of Parliament for Sipitang, will contest the Sindumin State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat.

Other candidates are the incumbent Inanam DUN seat, Datuk Peto Galim, and former Putatan Member of Parliament, Datuk Awang Husaini Sahari, for the Petagas DUN seat.

Next, former CEO of Sri Sabah Tourism, Thonny Chee, was named as a candidate to defend the Api-Api state seat held by Datuk Seri Christina Liew.

Former Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Party members Datuk Jamawi Jaafar and Datuk George Hiew have been named as candidates for the Melalap and Karamunting state seats respectively.

Jamawi is a former Kemabong State Assemblyman (ADUN), while Hiew is the incumbent Karamunting state seat.

A new face who is also a former Secretary-General in several Federal ministries, Datuk Ruji Ubi, has been chosen to contest the Merotai state seat.

In addition, former teacher, Rufinah Pengeran, has been named as the candidate for the Tulid state seat; Abdul Said Pimping (Gum-Gum); and Romansa Lamin (Segama).

Also present at the event were PKR Deputy President, Nurul Izzah Anwar, and Sabah PKR State Leadership Council Chairman, Datuk Mustapha Sakmud.
