
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah State Prison Department’s futsal team are aiming to win the men’s title at the Malaysian Prison Department Interstate Futsal Championship starting at the Yayasan Sabah Futsal Arena today (Friday) from 8am until 10pm.
A total of 13 teams throughout the country are taking part in the two-day competition organised by Malaysian Prisons Department Sports Council and hosted by Sabah State Prisons Department for the first time.
Roslan Wasli, who is one of the coaches for the State contingent together with Billyon Vun and Belan Kaseh, said they are hoping to win the men’s title with the home ground advantage.
They are also targeting at least a semi-final berth for the women’s team.

Meanwhile, the handing over of the State flag ceremony was held on Thursday and it was presented by State Prison deputy director Abd Rauf Lang Pasih to team manager Jorennedy Sylvester.
