KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has revised this year's public holiday schedule based on a Sabah Government Gazette issued on March 6.
The official Governor’s birthday, initially set for Saturday, Oct 4, has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 30.
Sabah's TYT official birthday is celebrated every first Saturday of October after being moved from June several years ago.
The change has sparked online speculation that Sabahans may get a longer Hari Raya Aidilfitri break, as the replacement holiday is expected on March 31.
If Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on March 31 or April 1, an extra public holiday could be declared.
A supposed government gazette announcing the new date had also gone viral on social media.
