
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the State Government values the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (MICCI) contributions to policymaking and economic growth.
Speaking at MICCI Sabah’s annual luncheon (via his senior private secretary), he praised MICCI’s role in promoting a healthy business environment and its leadership in the Sabah International Expo.
Hajiji highlighted Sabah’s record RM6.42 billion budget for 2025, with RM2.6 billion allocated for upgrading infrastructure, utilities, and renewable energy projects, including the Ulu Padas hydroelectric dam.
Sabah has attracted RM17.41 billion in investments since 2020, with 52 companies already operating. New proposals worth RM42.3 billion could create nearly 33,000 jobs.
He also emphasized the state’s Blue Economy as a future economic driver, with investment opportunities in marine sectors like ocean energy, maritime transport, and biotechnology.
