
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has recorded more than 1.6 million tourist arrivals from around the world in the first six months this year, said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew.
She said of the number, 17,000 were tourists from China.
“This has injected vitality and hope into our tourism industry. It demonstrates that despite facing global challenges, Sabah continues to maintain a strong appeal, attracting visitors from around the world to experience our natural beauty and unique culture,” she said in her speech during the closing ceremony of the 2023 Chinese Cultural Holiday Programme at Kian Kok Middle School, here, Sunday.
