Kota Kinabalu: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Wanita chief Datuk Seri Azizah Mohd Dun (pic) said Sabah’s 40 per cent entitlement should not be further delayed on technical grounds, including a court-ordered stay.

She said postponing negotiations reflected a political failure to honour rights long enshrined in the Federal Constitution and stressed that a stay did not mean talks should stop.

Azizah said Sabahans had waited too long for the entitlement, describing it as a longstanding right that continued to be denied through unreasonable justifications.

She also rejected claims that diesel subsidies in Sabah and Sarawak were politically motivated, saying the benefits were justified as oil resources originated from both states.

She added that Sabah deserved additional parliamentary seats to reflect its size and growing needs, while calling for greater opportunities for women leaders and reaffirming that the fight for Sabah’s rights would continue.
