Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Covid-19 cases spiked to 221 on Thursday from 173 the day earlier while one death was recorded in Papar.

Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the positivity rate surged to 10.78 per cent from 8.65 per cent while a total of 2,051 samples were collected.

Kota Kinabalu accounted for nearly half of the caseload with 103 cases, followed by Tuaran (36), Papar (19), Tawau (15), Penampang (13) and Sandakan (8).

“Ten cases did not record any new infections,” he said in a statement, Thursday.

He said 217 out of 221 cases were category one and two infections while one case was recorded in category three and three cases in category four.
