Scenic’s Chief Executive Officer Viviantie Sarjuni emphasised the need for structured training, improved production facilities, and funding to enhance Sabah’s film industry and strengthen global collaborations.
Safva President Chester Pang highlighted the industry’s rapid growth, with 10 Sabah-produced films set for release this year, backed by funding from Finas, MyCreative Ventures, and international co-production interests.
With increasing global recognition and new content distribution opportunities, Sabah is positioning itself as a competitive film hub, leveraging its unique locations, talent pool, and government support to expand its creative economy.
