Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s caseload fell below three-digits with 93 cases on Sunday, after hitting an all-time high of 127 the day earlier.

Sabah’s Covid-19 Spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the State’s overall Covid-19 situation improved with 19 districts recording zero infections, compared to only 12 the day before.

“Twelve districts also recorded a decrease, while four districts recorded an increase,” he said in a statement, Sunday, adding that no deaths or new clusters were identified.

In the urban areas, Masidi said Kota Kinabalu and Penampang recorded differing infection trends, where cases in Kota Kinabalu spiked up to 56 on Sunday from 24 the day earlier, while Penampang’s cases fell from 34 on Saturday to 14 on Sunday.

“More than 80 per cent of Kota Kinabalu’s cases were sporadic,” he said, adding that of Sabah’s overall caseload, 68 per cent were sporadic while 20.43 per cent were close contacts.

Masidi said 92 out of 93 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was recorded in category four.

On Sabah’s immunisation programme, 1,375 individuals took their vaccines on Jun 18, of which 303 were adults and 1,072 were children.
