Kota Kinabalu: The Tanjung Aru Library is slated to host Sabah’s first Children’s Literature Festival on Saturday.
State Library Director Hajah Fatimah Abdillah said the four-day festival – organised by the agency and the Sabah branch of Dewan Bahasa Pustaka – aimed to encourage more children to develop a reading habit.
“On top of this, we hope to foster a greater sense of unity among the younger generation through writing, reading and storytelling activities,” she said.
She said an array of writers and illustrators of children’s literature would be conducting workshops at the festival, from 9am to 5pm, to share their knowledge and experience.
