KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah receiving the largest development allocation under the Budget 2025 proves that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) coalitions coming together to form the Unity Government was the right choice, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) president Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup (pic) said.

He added that the Unity Government had also awarded Pan-Borneo Highway projects that are to begin in Sabah.

“During the political imbroglio in the last term, not a single Pan-Borneo project was awarded to begin at that time. So now we know which is the best and we know what our direction forward is,” he said during his speech at BN’s Golden Jubilee celebrations at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTC KL) here today, which was also attended by BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M Saravanan and MCA chairman Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong.

He pointed out that ever since the Unity Government administration, the country has enjoyed political stability and its image was good with investment in the country rising.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced that Sabah would receive RM6.7 billion, the highest development allocation among the states under the Budget 2025 on Oct 18.

Anwar stressed that the MADANI government would honour the conditions in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and that such decisions should not be questioned as Sabah and Sarawak should receive specific attention.
