Let's get into the eternal bikini debate – a topic hotter than the tropical Sabah sun!

In the last few days, we have Sabah's State Tourism Minister, Christina Liew, expressing her displeasure at tourists who dare to flaunt their beachwear in the heart of Kota Kinabalu.

We are referring specifically to that lady in the photos circulating on the net who could be seen posing close to the building housing the Sabah Tourism Board and clearly displaying her breasts and buttocks for the public to see or gawk at.

I mean, really, do such individuals think they're auditioning for "Sabah's Next Top Model: Beach Edition"?

Now, let's not forget, Kota Kinabalu might be close to some stunning islands, but it's not a giant sandy catwalk for bikini-clad women.

Liew's got a point, you know.

She's reminding tourists to understand the local customs, and in Sabah, that doesn't involve strolling around in your swimwear while casually posing next to your luggage in the middle of the state capital of Kota Kinabalu.

I can just picture it – tourists strutting around like they're in a seaside fashion show, and the locals wondering if they missed the promotion announcement. Most of them would have their eyes bulging out staring at half-naked bodies that would make our ulama cringe!

You see, as a tourist, when you visit a place, it's not just about snapping selfies, it's also about respecting the local traditions, customs and dress culture.

So, maybe keep that bikini hidden for the beach, and when you're near the Sabah Tourism Board building, definitely don't make it your fashion runway!

After all, nobody wants to see distasteful photos that make them question their life choices.
