
Tuaran: Transit homes for former inmates can help to reduce recidivism among them, said Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
“Recidivism among former residents of such transit homes is one in 800, which means the percentage is small,” he said when officiating the transit house for former inmates, here, Monday.
The transit house is the third such facility in Sabah after the homes in Sandakan and Kepayan. Currently, there are 14 transit homes nationwide.
