Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the sales value of crafts in the two states as of September 30 had increased by 19% compared to the same period in 2021, with Sabah and Sarawak recording craft sales valued at RM15.8 million and RM14.9 million respectively.
“The value of craft sales generated by these two states shows an achievement of RM30.7 million, which is a 19% increase over the same period of the previous year, which was RM25.7 million,” she said in her speech at the Gala Night in conjunction with the Borneo Textile Craft Festival 2022 tonight.
Her speech was read out by Motac secretary-general Datuk Saraya Arbi.
She said the festival was organised in conjunction with the Kuching Waterfront Festival from October 28 to November 6, with the involvement of 120 craft entrepreneurs from Sarawak and Sabah.
The festival also offers a variety of interesting activities such as craft sales, craft product exhibitions, “Ini Batik Malaysia” exhibition, craft demonstrations and craft interactives. – Bernama, November 4, 2022
