Kota Kinabalu: The State Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains) and the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis) have become the first in Malaysia to issue a digital marriage certificate.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said the digitisation effort was also for divorce certificate and reconciliation, as well as strengthening the service quality of the agencies involved.
He said the digital certificate would be equipped with various security features that refer back to the Sabah Marriages database under the State Government’s database.
