Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly on the national stage as eight Sabah-based businesses proudly brought home a total of nine awards at this year’s Platinum Business Awards (PBA) 2025, organised by the SME Association of Malaysia.

Since its inception in 2002, the Platinum Business Awards has stood as one of Malaysia’s most esteemed annual award programs, recognising excellence, innovation, and achievement among the nation’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The awards celebrate outstanding performance, sustainable growth, and impactful leadership across various sectors of the economy.

All nominations underwent a rigorous judging process conducted by a distinguished panel comprising renowned business leaders, auditors, and professionals, ensuring transparency and credibility in selecting the most deserving recipients who exemplify the best of Malaysia’s SME community.

This year’s PBA Organising Chairman, Dennix Yeow, led the national event with remarkable success, while Fenny Yapp was appointed as the Person-in-Charge for the Sabah region, coordinating and supporting Sabah’s participating nominees throughout the journey.

The outstanding performance of Sabah’s award winners highlights the state’s growing contribution to Malaysia’s SME landscape and reflects the dynamism, resilience, and innovation of local entrepreneurs.

SME Sabah President, Dr. Deledda Sinnett, congratulated all the Sabah awardees for their remarkable achievements. She also expressed her heartfelt appreciation to SME Association of Malaysia for their warm hospitality during the gala dinner, which was held at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, Selangor Darul Ehsan.

“We are extremely proud of our Sabah SMEs who continue to raise the bar and demonstrate that Sabah businesses can compete and excel at the national level,” said Dr. Deledda.

“A special thanks also goes to Fenny Yapp for her dedication and tireless effort in ensuring the success of this event and in supporting our Sabah participants throughout the process.”The Platinum Business Awards continues to serve as a vital platform for fostering excellence, inspiring transformation, and encouraging greater participation from SMEs across Malaysia — including the vibrant and growing business community in Sabah.
