KOTA KINABALU: Sabah State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim M Yahya has formally notified the Election Commission of the vacancy of the Lamag state seat.

The notification follows the death of the seat’s incumbent, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, last Friday.

Kadzim said the notice was issued in accordance with Article 21(5) of the Sabah Constitution.

“On behalf of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly, I extend my condolences to Bung Moktar Radin’s family and pray that his soul be blessed and granted a place among the faithful,” he said in a statement.
