
LAHAD DATU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, through Deputy CM Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, said the opening of the Langom Control Centre and Research Station in Danum Valley affirms the State Government’s commitment to conservation and biodiversity research.
Funded with RM5.6 million under the 12th Malaysia Plan, the centre aligns with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Development Plan and aims to support sustainable forest management while positioning the Danum Valley-Maliau Basin-Imbak Canyon (DaMaI) landscape as a global conservation and research hub.
Hajiji expressed hope for continued federal support through the National Conservation Trust Fund and future Malaysia Plans.
