KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor (pic) says the State Government is set to overhaul the leadership of its government-linked companies (GLCs) as part of a wider effort to strengthen governance and performance.

He said the restructuring, which involves chairpersons and board members, is intended to improve accountability and ensure GLCs are better positioned to support Sabah’s development priorities.

Hajiji said the move aims to inject new leadership capable of driving the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 agenda, particularly in boosting economic value for the State.

He added that GLCs must be guided by professional and results-driven teams able to navigate emerging sectors such as strategic investments, digitalisation, new energy and social development.

The Chief Minister said past leaders' contributions are recognised, but a revamp is necessary to ensure continuity, transformation and long-term stability for Sabah and its people.
