Sabah tourism blueprint to be completed this year

TUARAN: Sabah is drafting a long-term Tourism Blueprint, expected to be finalised by year-end, to guide sustainable growth and address challenges such as connectivity, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.

He expressed confidence the state is on track to hit its target of four million visitors under Visit Malaysia 2026, after recording 3.79 million arrivals and RM8.74 billion in revenue last year.

Hajiji said continued investments, including the Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran and upcoming international hotel brands, reflect strong investor confidence and will boost jobs, local businesses and high-value tourism.

He added that the state is focusing on sustainability, collaboration and digital innovation to build a resilient tourism sector while preserving the environment and local communities.
