Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Umno members have actually split into two factions despite what the party's Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin tried to deny on Sunday, an NGO said.
The chairman of NGO Gerakan Kuasa Rakyat Malaysia, Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar, said he can vouch that Sabah Umno leaders and members have indeed split into two groups as he has been a political activist at the forefront of helping Sabah Umno since 1999.
“Although Bung Moktar tried to deny it as the Chairman of Umno in Sabah, the truth that Sabah Umno has lost the support of party grassroots members and data shows that this trend will continue to increase in the run-up to the 17th State Election," he said in a statement.
