Kota Kinabalu: edco Mining Sdn Bhd and the Sabah Water Department have signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly manage and monitor sand extraction at water treatment plant intake areas statewide, with the aim of ensuring sustainable and controlled extraction without disrupting plant operations.
The MoU was signed by Sedco Mining Chief Executive Officer Datuk Shamsul Bahri Johari and Sabah Water Department Director Chee Chun Chieh, witnessed by Deputy Chief Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam and Datuk Ewon Benedick, among other officials.
