Kota Kinabalu: Sabah chief minister Hajiji Noor has congratulated Anwar Ibrahim for his appointment as prime minister and has given the assurance that the state government will fully support the federal government.

Hajiji, the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman, expressed confidence that the state and federal governments could work closely together to realise various aspects of development, including efforts to return Sabah’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

“Anwar’s vast experience will be able to bring much-needed economic revival for the people and the development of the entire country,” he said in a statement.

He also hoped that Pakatan Harapan’s general election manifesto would be implemented to empower Sabah and Sarawak.

Anwar was sworn in as Malaysia’s 10th prime minister at 5.06pm today before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
