INANAM: Former Native Court District Chief Edna Majimbun urged all Sabahans to unite in demanding fairness and full respect for the state’s constitutional rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

She said the time has come for the Federal Government to move beyond symbolic gestures and deliver Sabah’s rightful 40 percent entitlement as provided under Articles 112C and 112D of the Federal Constitution.

Edna welcomed the recent Kota Kinabalu High Court ruling affirming Sabah’s entitlement but said the judgment must now translate into real, enforceable action.

While she acknowledged the Prime Minister’s statement and the allocations channelled to Sabah through budgets and grants, she said these should not be mistaken for what is constitutionally owed to the state.

“The forty per cent entitlement is not a political favour or token of goodwill. It is a constitutional right,” she said, adding that the issue affects every Sabahan, every family, and every future that depends on fairness and mutual respect within the Federation.

Edna who recently joined Warisan said the people of Inanam stand united in viewing the issue not merely as a political struggle but as one of justice and dignity for all Sabahans.

“The future of Sabah depends on our courage to stay united in demanding what is right and on the integrity of our leaders to deliver it,” she said.

She urged the Prime Minister to show true statesmanship by ensuring the entitlement is fulfilled without delay or compromise.

“The court has spoken. The Constitution is clear. Now, the government must act. This is not charity, this is justice. And justice must never be delayed,” she said.

Edna also called on all Sabahans, regardless of race, faith or political belief to unite and be the generation that corrects past wrongs and rebuilds Malaysia upon truth, equality and respect for every partner in the Federation.
