Leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have announced a series of industrial and employment-focused proposals ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, claiming that the party would bring major economic reforms, if voted to power.

Addressing mediapersons in Phagwara, district trade wing president Sukhbir Singh Kinra and industry wing president Harvinder Singh Lovely Walia said, “The party, under the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal, is committed to strengthening Punjab’s industrial sector and generating large-scale employment.”

The leaders said industries employing 75 per cent local workers would receive special concessions under the Akali Dal government. They also promised to reduce industrial power tariff to Rs 5 per unit to boost manufacturing and investment in the state.

Kinra and Walia further announced that a 200-acre skill development university would be established in Ludhiana to prepare skilled manpower for bicycle, hosiery and auto parts industries.

Criticising the Aam Aadmi Party, the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Akali leaders alleged that Punjab witnessed real development only during Akali rule and expressed confidence that people would again support the party in 2027 elections.
