Workers of the Shiromani Akali Dal today staged a protest in front of the DC office complex against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over a viral video and burnt his effigy outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The protesters raised slogans against the Punjab Government and the Chief Minister, alleging that the viral video had hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community.
Addressing the gathering, SAD district president Sharanjit Singh and Fatehgarh Sahib constituency in-charge Baljit Singh Bhutta claimed that the video had deeply offended Sikhs across the world. They said the issue had been taken seriously by Akal Takht.
The SAD leaders demanded that Mann should publicly apologise over the issue. — OC
