
KENINGAU: A Proton Saga went up in smoke after a collision with a Perodua Axia at Nabawan-Sapulut road, Saturday night.
Sook Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 9.25pm and a total of six members and four members of the Volunteer Support Team (PBS) led by Operations Officer, Ranizan Samiran rushed to the scene some 34km away with machinery.
According to the head of operations, when the team arrived, the victim was not at the location and believed taken to hospital by a member of the public.
Firemen extinguished the fire using a stream of hose reels from the machinery tank and the operation ended at 11.10pm.
Meanwhile, in another incident, the kitchen of a non-permanent house was 15 per cent burnt in Kampung Linggawon Apin-Apin, Saturday.
The district Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 12.54pm and a total of 10 members led by Operations Officer, Leong Hoi Min rushed to the location with machinery.
The fire was extinguished by the owner of the house before the arrival of firemen.
