Walter Sabatini has been named new general manager of Salernitana.
The former AS Roma sporting director returns to the Serie A minnows after being pushed out last season.
Salernitana announced: "The U.S. Salernitana 1919 is pleased to announce that it has conferred the role of General Director of the Company on Mr. Walter Sabatini, icon of the world of football, manager with proven experience and key man in the historic salvation of the Granata in the 21/22 season.
"His enthusiasm, vitality and desire to win as well as all-round competence will distinguish his work.
"Director Sabatini will reach Salerno in the next few hours to start his work immediately."
